About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Information Governance & Stewardship is a global leadership role within Supply Chain & Operations (SC&O) Systems, responsible for shaping and advancing the governance, stewardship, and control framework for critical supply chain data across DePuy Synthes. This role ensures data is accurate, trusted, secure, and compliant across key domains, platforms, and end-to-end processes that support planning, manufacturing, distribution, quality, and regulatory execution in a complex, highly regulated medical technology environment. Working in close partnership with Supply Chain, IT, Quality, Regulatory, Security, and Data & Analytics leaders, this position drives standardized policies, clear data ownership, scalable stewardship practices, and governance embedded into business and system change. The role also champions AI- and automation-enabled capabilities as key enablers of governance maturity, operational efficiency, and proactive risk management—leveraging intelligent monitoring, workflow automation, exception management, and advanced analytics to strengthen data integrity, accelerate decision-making, and support digital transformation across the global supply chain network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in information governance, data governance, master data, supply chain systems, or related enterprise data and operations roles.
  • Demonstrated success designing and operationalizing governance frameworks, stewardship models, data quality controls, and decision rights across complex, cross-functional organizations.
  • Proven leadership experience in global or matrixed environments, including influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across business and technology teams.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and enterprise platforms, including ERP, planning, manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, quality, and analytics systems, and the data dependencies across them.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, master data management, metadata, information lifecycle management, and internal control concepts.
  • Ability to translate complex data, process, and system issues into clear business implications, prioritized actions, and executive-level recommendations.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance and catalog tools (Colibra, Informatica, Alation, Microsoft Purview, etc..).
  • Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory frameworks including GxP, SOX.

  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s, or equivalent) with concentration in data, supply chain, operations, analytics, technology management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in medical devices, life sciences, healthcare, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory, privacy, records management, and compliance requirements relevant to supply chain data, quality systems, and controlled business processes.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, data modernization, or enterprise platform initiatives with governance embedded into process and system design.
  • Exposure to AI, advanced analytics, automation, or intelligent workflow capabilities used to improve data quality, stewardship efficiency, control effectiveness, or risk monitoring.

  • Experience with SAP and JDE ERPs, Particularly S4 Hana

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the global information governance and data stewardship for SC&O systems, aligning priorities, controls, and operating models with enterprise standards, business objectives, and regulatory expectations.
  • Establish and sustain clear data ownership, stewardship, decision rights, and accountability across critical supply chain data domains, supported by effective governance forums, escalation paths, and performance expectations.
  • Partner across Supply Chain, IT, Quality, Regulatory, Compliance, Security, and Data & Analytics to standardize business definitions, strengthen master and transactional data integrity, and improve end-to-end data lifecycle management.
  • Lead governance requirements for system implementations, process redesign, and platform integrations, ensuring data quality, traceability, compliance, and controls are embedded by design across digital supply chain initiatives.
  • Holistic focus on master data and the data creation processes, including master data management (processes, data quality tests, reports and workflows), and interfaces.
  • Work in collaboration with the E2E Data Leads on the ERP Deployment Teams to ensure documentation, development, testing and delivery follow DePuy Synthes ERP program delivery methodology where relevant to Master Data objects.
  • Advance AI- and automation-enabled governance capabilities, including intelligent monitoring, exception-based workflows, data quality rule automation, and advanced analytics to improve speed, scale, and risk visibility.
  • Define, monitor, and communicate governance, data quality, and compliance KPIs to senior leadership, using insights to prioritize remediation, measure maturity, and accelerate continuous improvement.
  • Build and develop a high-performing information governance and stewardship team while influencing cross-functional stakeholders and fostering a culture of data ownership, discipline, and operational excellence.
  • Maintain data lineage, retention schedules, and archiving policies for master data in alignment with legal and audit requirements
  • Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, IT and Security to ensure ERP access controls, segregation of duties, and data classification policies are enforced.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to Supply Chain leadership on information risk, inspection and audit readiness, and the operational impact of data and process changes, ensuring robust documentation, controls, and traceability.
