About the position

The Senior Manager of Data Science will lead a team dedicated to driving impactful business strategies through data-driven insights. This role is crucial for overseeing the development and application of advanced algorithms to analyze data from company databases, enhancing product development, marketing strategies, and business operations. The position emphasizes the use of predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis to improve business performance and elevate customer experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Set team objectives and align them with company goals, ensuring that data science initiatives are impactful and aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Oversee the development of algorithms and models to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights to drive decision-making across departments.
  • Direct efforts to optimize marketing and operational processes, providing insights that support the executive team in data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, Operations, and Executive teams, to understand business needs and deliver targeted, data-based solutions.
  • Lead the development of predictive models that support key initiatives, including customer experience optimization, revenue generation, and targeted marketing.
  • Collaborate with other teams to create robust ad targeting models that increase engagement and conversion, contributing to business growth.
  • Drive an agile approach to data science initiatives, promoting iterative testing, learning, and adaptability to enhance the team's responsiveness to business needs.
  • Ensure that projects are executed efficiently, with a focus on continuous improvement and rapid delivery of high-value insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, with a track record of successfully leading teams in a business-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong proficiency in data mining, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with business and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Experience in a consumer-focused industry, particularly in optimizing customer experience and revenue strategies.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
