About The Position

HP is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Sr. Director of Infrastructure, Data Center, Cloud & FinOps to lead the modernization, operational excellence, financial governance, and lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure platforms and services. This role is responsible for driving enterprise-wide infrastructure strategy across on-premises data centers, cloud platforms, hosting environments, core infrastructure engineering, and cloud financial operations (FinOps). The Sr. Director will lead globally distributed teams responsible for infrastructure reliability, scalability, automation, optimization, and operational efficiency while ensuring alignment with enterprise technology priorities, cybersecurity requirements, and financial targets. This leader will partner closely with architecture, security, application, engineering, finance, procurement, and business stakeholders to enable resilient, cost-effective, and scalable infrastructure services. This role requires a strong combination of technical depth, operational leadership, financial acumen, vendor management expertise, and transformational leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud operations, data center management, or platform engineering.
  • 7+ years leading global technical teams and large-scale enterprise infrastructure operations.
  • Deep expertise across enterprise infrastructure domains including compute, storage, virtualization, networking, cloud platforms, and operational tooling.
  • Strong experience leading hybrid cloud environments and cloud transformation programs.
  • Proven experience building or leading FinOps, cloud optimization, or infrastructure financial governance programs.
  • Experience managing large operational budgets, technology vendors, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure security, governance, compliance, and resiliency frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success driving operational transformation, automation, and service modernization initiatives.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect, ITIL, FinOps Certified Practitioner, or equivalent.
  • Experience operating within large global enterprise environments.
  • Experience implementing AIOps, observability, infrastructure automation, or platform engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
  • Experience supporting regulated or highly secure enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute enterprise infrastructure and hosting strategy aligned to business and technology objectives.
  • Lead modernization initiatives across compute, storage, virtualization, networking, backup/recovery, and data center operations.
  • Oversee hybrid infrastructure environments including enterprise data centers, colocation facilities, and public cloud platforms.
  • Drive infrastructure lifecycle management, capacity planning, resiliency, and availability improvements.
  • Ensure infrastructure platforms meet enterprise requirements for performance, scalability, compliance, and disaster recovery.
  • Establish operational standards, governance models, and engineering best practices across infrastructure domains.
  • Lead enterprise cloud operations and engineering across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Drive cloud adoption, migration, optimization, and modernization programs.
  • Establish cloud governance frameworks covering security, architecture standards, automation, tagging, compliance, and operational controls.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure and compliant cloud operations.
  • Champion infrastructure-as-code, automation, observability, and self-service platform capabilities.
  • Enable scalable cloud platform operations supporting enterprise applications and services globally.
  • Establish and lead enterprise FinOps governance, reporting, and optimization programs.
  • Drive cloud cost transparency, accountability, forecasting, budgeting, and optimization initiatives.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards for infrastructure utilization, cloud consumption, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Technology leaders to optimize infrastructure spend and vendor contracts.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, rightsizing, reserved instances, storage optimization, and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead financial planning activities related to infrastructure and cloud investments.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and operational performance of enterprise infrastructure services.
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Establish SLAs, SLOs, operational metrics, and service health reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations, engineering, and service delivery.
  • Implement automation and AI-enabled operational efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Support enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Lead and develop high-performing global infrastructure and engineering teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Build organizational capability in cloud engineering, automation, FinOps, and modern infrastructure practices.
  • Manage workforce planning, succession planning, vendor resources, and strategic hiring.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for senior technology and business leaders.
  • Manage strategic relationships with cloud providers, infrastructure vendors, managed service providers, and colocation partners.
  • Lead vendor negotiations, contract governance, performance management, and service reviews.
  • Ensure vendor services align with enterprise expectations for cost, reliability, security, and operational performance.
