About The Position

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Sr. Director, Learning, Performance, and Inclusion - Orthopedics, located in Raynham, MA, West Chester, PA, Raritan NJ, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, or Warsaw, IN. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Position Summary The Sr. Director, Learning, Performance, and Inclusion provides enterprise‑level leadership for learning strategy, delivery, and external vendor management at DePuy Synthes. This role is responsible for building a scalable, high‑impact learning ecosystem that supports leadership development, workforce capability, and business transformation. The position has a significant impact on how learning is delivered globally and ensures strong governance, quality, and value from learning partners while enabling a consistent, high‑quality learner experience across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in learning, talent development, or HR leadership roles, including senior leadership responsibility.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise wide learning strategies and large scale learning operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in learning vendor strategy, governance, and performance management.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen to assess learning effectiveness and vendor value.
  • Experience partnering with executive level stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.
  • English proficiency required.

  • Master’s degree, MBA, or advanced degree (preferred).
  • Experience supporting learning in regulated or highly complex organizations.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms, learning analytics, and modern learning technologies.
  • Experience leading learning transformation or operating‑model redesign initiatives.
  • Exposure to global or regional learning delivery models.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical device, or life sciences industries.
  • Learning, HR, or vendor management certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the enterprise learning strategy aligned with business priorities and workforce needs.
  • Oversee learning delivery models, including internal teams and external learning vendors.
  • Lead vendor strategy, selection, governance, performance management, and contract oversight.
  • Establish learning governance, standards, metrics, and reporting to ensure quality, consistency, and ROI.
  • Partner with senior leaders and HR teams to identify capability gaps and prioritize learning investments.
  • Drive innovation, digital enablement, and continuous improvement across learning solutions.
  • Lead, develop, and engage high‑performing learning and vendor management teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, data privacy requirements, and regulatory standards related to learning and vendors.
