About the position

The Senior Director, Information Technology at FIS is responsible for managing IT teams that support the Tech Next rationalization program, focusing on enterprise-wide platform consolidation and migration efforts. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes with minimal client disruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage IT teams supporting the Tech Next rationalization program.
  • Plan, design, and direct activities for platform consolidation and rationalization.
  • Collaborate with executives to formulate long-term strategic plans for client migration tools.
  • Guide business and IT leaders in investment decisions balancing operational demands and strategic vision.
  • Define and communicate project milestones and resource allocation to stakeholders.
  • Develop and review budgets for IT department divisions.
  • Review IT systems performance to determine costs and upgrade needs.
  • Authorize and oversee software deployment and maintenance based on departmental needs.
  • Develop business case justifications for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Oversee end-user services, including help desk and technical support.
  • Implement IT policies and procedures for architecture, security, and service provision.
  • Negotiate and administer vendor and consultant contracts.
  • Manage IT staffing, including recruitment and development.
  • Establish communication with senior leaders regarding IT activities.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or a master's degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration with technology as a core component.
  • Minimum of 10 years managing large teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Proven experience in IT strategic planning, project management, and policy development.
  • Knowledge of various IT project methodologies and life cycles.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and FIS products and services is preferred.
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis to management.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing business processes and managing budgets.
  • Ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to development and engineering.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
