About the position

The Sr Director of Cybersecurity at Novant Health is responsible for managing cybersecurity risks and ensuring the protection of digital assets. This role involves translating the department's vision into actionable tasks, overseeing cybersecurity strategy, and integrating cybersecurity products and services across the organization. The Sr Director will lead a team, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards while fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Translate department vision and strategy into mission and tasks for operational leaders.
• Develop and maintain department strategy to meet organizational cybersecurity needs.
• Lead and manage the cybersecurity team, including recruiting, training, and mentoring staff.
• Collaborate with organizational leaders to support objectives and build relationships with key stakeholders.
• Communicate the value of Cybersecurity Products & Services throughout the organization.
• Stay current with emerging threats, technology trends, and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate cybersecurity products and services into service lines across the organization.
• Oversee the maintenance of cybersecurity job descriptions and team member development plans.
• Assist the CISO with planning and overseeing the Cybersecurity Products & Services budget.
• Develop and manage the cybersecurity budget, ensuring effective resource allocation.

Requirements

• 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree required; Graduate Degree preferred.
• 10+ years of Information Security experience required.
• Minimum 7 years of IT related experience; experience in a complex healthcare environment.
• Experience in carrying out leadership roles and responsibilities in a senior leadership role required.
• CISSP and CompTIA Security+ and ITIL Foundation (or equivalent) required.
• CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CISA, CASP, COBIT Foundation (or equivalent) required.
• Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles and frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
• Proven track record in developing and executing strategic plans.
