About the position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a Sr. Director Contracts to join our St. Petersburg, FL or Scaranton, PA Team. Responsibilities

  • Directs all activities in the organization's contracts administration function
  • Oversees the preparation and administration of bids, proposals, negotiations, and contracts that follow company policies and legal requirements
  • Directs the contracts administration staff and guides compliance with complex contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Directs and develops policies and processes that govern the contract administration staff and provides guidance on contract terms and the assessment of contract proposals
  • Has deep knowledge of the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable government regulations
  • Negotiates complex or high-value contracts
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • 10-12 years' experience in a relevant function

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant degree
  • Experience within the defense industry
  • Preferred professional procurement/contracting certifications at the state or national levels, such as certifications offered by NCMA, CFCM, CPCM
  • Government contracts experience
  • Working knowledge of munitions: associated platforms, strategic and tactical systems, and military munitions/platform interface requirements
