About the position

Brady Corp is seeking a senior cybersecurity engineer to contribute and support the comprehensive security program focusing on preventing, detecting and responding to security events across the organization. The role involves being a subject matter expert on cybersecurity technologies and practices, providing technical leadership to the cybersecurity team and other IT staff, and designing, building, testing, and implementing security solutions within Brady's network. The engineer will also identify, report, and help troubleshoot security issues in technologies or process deficiencies, assess and prioritize threats and vulnerabilities to the IT infrastructure, and interact with the security community to obtain technical cyber threat intelligence. Additionally, the engineer will be an active practitioner enforcing IT security governance and compliance activities and advising leadership of changes to the technical and business risk profile.

Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert on cybersecurity technologies and practices.
  • Provide technical leadership to the cybersecurity team and other IT staff.
  • Design, build, test and implement security solutions within Brady's network.
  • Identify, report, and help troubleshoot security issues in technologies or process deficiencies.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize threats and vulnerabilities to the IT infrastructure.
  • Interact with the security community to obtain technical cyber threat intelligence.
  • Be an active practitioner and enforce IT security governance and compliance activities.
  • Advise leadership of changes to the technical and business risk profile.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in computer science, IT Security or a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, IT Security or a related field preferred.
  • 4 years of technical experience in Information Security and Information Technology (System Administration or Network Engineering).
  • Experience working with security tools: EDR, SIEM, firewalls, IAM, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Proven success in working closely with IT Teams to improve security through tools, automation and awareness.
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate both verbally and written to exchange ideas and collaborate with various technical and non-technical teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with web application architectures and secure coding practices preferred.
