About the position

Located where miles of breathtaking ocean views meet dense coastal forests, Adventist Health Mendocino County has a rich history serving community members on the coast since 1971. We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and offer a range of services in Fort Bragg. The Mendocino Coast offers a small-town atmosphere and is known for its natural beauty, from the smallest to the tallest redwoods in the world, to glass bottom beaches and the only oceanfront botanical gardens in the United States. With whale watching, fishing, hiking trails and many more outdoor adventures readily available, this coastal region is a place to immerse yourself in its landscape and history. Job Summary: Utilizes computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues. Provides clinical care efficiently and effectively using a high level of technical and organizational skills as well as critical thinking ability.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric.
  • Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
  • Uses PACS and teleradiology system to correctly transfer images to the appropriate location.
  • Ensures department, equipment and staffing meet requirements set forth by any accreditation maintained by facility (JCAHO, ACR, State Licensures, etc.).
  • Leads and is responsible for the process of accreditation with these governing bodies for the specific modality.
  • Plans the daily patient workload to accommodate patients.
  • Provides adequate staffing to accommodate patient workload, while covering vacations and sick days.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred
  • Three years' CT technologist experience: Preferred
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required
  • Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA
  • Advanced certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
  • Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA and OR
  • Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA and OR
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
  • ARRT-Radiography (ARRT-R) or ARRT-Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT): Required
  • Facility Specific License/Certifications: Venipuncture (IV) certification: Required
