About the position
The Sr. Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in the Accounting team, reporting directly to the Accounting Director. This position requires a blend of technical accounting expertise and strong communication skills to effectively influence decision-making and guide cross-functional teams. The role involves managing cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate transaction recording, and driving departmental effectiveness in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing the cost card approval process
- Resolving PO and invoice issues, including analyzing root causes
- Coordinating co-manufacturer reconciliations related to waste, PPV, and true-ups
- Overseeing raw material reserves and write-off processes
- Driving cross-functional improvements and training business partners
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant cost accounting experience
- BS/BA in Accounting/Finance or relevant business experience
- Strong computer skills, including Excel (required) and NetSuite (or similar ERP system) preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Strong organizational skills, able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Capable of multitasking and managing multiple responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and remotely when needed
- High attention to detail, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
