About the position

The Sr Construction Manager will be responsible for the design & management of assigned, inhouse renovation & new construction projects or project management of hospital projects being designed by outside consultants. Will be expected to work independently with little direction or supervision. Will manage multiple projects, communicate & coordinate with key personnel, users, contractors, outside consultants, & government agencies; prepare construction contract documents, specifications & designs into biddable construction sets for assigned in-house renovation & new construction projects or apply management abilities to outside consultants to complete larger hospital projects with little direction or supervision, on schedule & within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage in-house renovation and new construction projects.
  • Project management of hospital projects designed by outside consultants.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communicate and coordinate with key personnel, users, contractors, outside consultants, and government agencies.
  • Prepare construction contract documents, specifications, and designs into biddable construction sets.
  • Apply management abilities to outside consultants for larger hospital projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management
  • Experience presenting to Senior Executives and the Board of Trustees
  • Knowledge of space planning, spatial relationships, functional flow, aesthetics, engineering, graphics, and construction practice
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of building materials and finishes
  • Ability to navigate the plan check and building permit approval process unique to hospital construction
  • Exercise independent discretion and judgment
  • Manage financials for multi-million dollar projects
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with MS Project and/or Primavera/Suretrak
