About the position

The Senior Analyst position in Gas Operations FP&A is responsible for leading the development, tracking, and management of operational and financial plans. This role involves conducting data-led analyses to identify improvement opportunities and influencing stakeholders to implement these opportunities, ensuring effective financial forecasting and budget management.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with customers to develop budget and provide historical data to justify work plan.
  • Enter budget information into Oracle.
  • Develop budget presentation materials for senior management.
  • Support financial forecasting processes with analyses using relevant systems and tools.
  • Identify and communicate variations from financial plan to stakeholders.
  • Attend key customer meetings, challenge forecast assumptions, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide monthly variance analysis and commentary, including corrective action plans.
  • Communicate monthly performance to customers.
  • Facilitate annual capital optimization and governance process, including preparation of governance meeting materials.
  • Lead spend driver tracking through maintenance, analyses, and communication of weekly data.
  • Identify opportunities to create value-added analyses to support customers in decision making.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of accrual submissions of all types along with associated payments.
  • Assist in rate case filing and regulatory reporting and help prepare relevant documentation.
  • Provide training to customers and internal staff on key processes, systems, and financial acumen.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of relevant work experience or Master's Degree and two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative and presentation skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and budgeting tools (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
  • Understanding of accounting principles (e.g., income statement, balance sheet).
  • Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities and proactive qualities.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 3 years of Financial Planning & Analysis related experience.
  • Understanding of ConEds business and FP&A function.
  • Engineering and Operations experience.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx).
  • Familiarity with work management systems (e.g., Logica, Maximo).
