About the position
X-ELIO, a Brookfield-owned leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Washington DC. The selected professional will be responsible for performing critical accounting processes to ensure the completion of general accounting entries. This role involves month-end closing procedures, intercompany balance reconciliation, supervision of accounts payable, and preparation of annual financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end closing procedures including accruals, payroll, depreciation process, currency revaluation, and equity movements.
- Conduct intercompany balance reconciliation, creating detailed files and resolving discrepancies with subsidiaries and HQ.
- Supervise accounts payable and payment processing performed by the Junior Accountant.
- Provide information to different users and departments through analysis and research of accounting data.
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements and support external audit processes at year-end.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position in a multinational company, preferably in the sector or construction.
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
- Highly versed in a large ERP system, preferably SAP.
- High level user of Office package tools.
