About the position

The Sprinkler Service Technician I is responsible for performing service and repairs on various sprinkler systems across commercial, industrial, and residential applications. This role involves troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, interpreting technical documents, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and ascertain equipment/system problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge systems, and fire pumps.
  • Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals and bulletins to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and operational product manuals.
  • Exhibit effective customer service skills by communicating with district staff and customers.
  • Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements and obtain customer signatures.
  • Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 years of documented experience in the Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions such as climbing ladders and working in crawl spaces.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory for timely customer response.
  • Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and meet company driving record requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
  • Must possess and retain a current State Fire Protection License or Journeyman License.

Nice-to-haves

  • NICET Level II certification preferred.
