About the position
The Life Safety Inspector at International Fire Protection Inc. is responsible for the testing and inspection of various fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and backflow preventers. This role emphasizes customer satisfaction and operational excellence, ensuring that inspections are conducted thoroughly and accurately while maintaining positive relationships with clients.
Responsibilities
- Ensure customers are serviced at the highest level of satisfaction through quality courteous service.
- Thoroughly complete inspections in a timely manner as scheduled and interface with the Inspection Coordinator.
- Utilize an online scheduling calendar to manage tasks and customer locations.
- Maintain positive customer relationships and review inspection results with customers.
- Submit required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and company vehicle in good working order.
- Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
- Stay current with code requirements and obtain NICET certifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Mechanical and math aptitude.
- Exceptional computer skills.
- Professional and organized demeanor.
- Valid state driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years of trade experience preferred.
- Previous experience in the fire protection industry preferred.
- NICET Certification 2 or 3 is preferred or willingness to obtain.
