About the position

The Speech Language Pathologist examines and evaluates patients, developing effective treatment plans appropriate for the patient condition. The Speech Language Pathologist measures patient progress, modifies treatment plans and educates the patient to produce optimal outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Current Florida license as Speech-Language Pathologist
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA required at hire or transfer into role
  • Less than one year clinical experience in area of job opening (e.g. Acute care, Outpatient, SNF)
  • Knowledge of Speech Language Pathology theory, procedures, practices and equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactive, positive approach to problem solving
  • Thorough knowledge of possible hazards/necessary precautions/remedial actions in the care of patients
  • Ability to assess and implement treatment programs for simple and complex therapy diagnoses
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Experience in Video Swallow Studies
  • Experience with Speaking Valve
  • Experience with Voice Prosthesis
  • Experience with FEES
