About the position

The Speech Language Pathologist Therapist PRN at Intermountain Health is responsible for assessing and treating patients with speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. This role involves providing clinical services based on evidence-based practices, mentoring students and new employees, and maintaining effective communication with patients and caregivers. The position is part-time and does not offer benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Screen, test, evaluate, diagnose, and treat disorders of speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, and swallowing.
  • Provide clinical services utilizing standards of care and evidence-based practices.
  • Comply with department and regulatory requirements for documentation, charging, and scheduling.
  • Supervise and educate colleagues, new employees, and students when requested.
  • Mentor student clinician externships and new employees.
  • Maintain effective communication with professionals, patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Participate in patient care conferences and staff meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state Speech Pathologist license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • Current certificate of clinical competence.
