About the position

As a Style Consultant at Target, you will be passionate about strong operations and providing an incredible guest experience, bringing the energy of style to life with compelling in-store presentations. You will be responsible for ensuring the sales floor is set full with the right product, accurately priced and signed, and that guests have a welcoming and helpful experience. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills in guest service, retail business fundamentals, and industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact
  • Gain knowledge from store tools to understand key metrics and sales goals
  • Ensure product availability by keeping the salesfloor replenished and organized
  • Create an inviting shopping environment by executing visual standards
  • Maintain and use the fitting rooms to welcome and inspire guests
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store
  • Acknowledge guests while completing workload with minimal disruption
  • Support changes to product assortment and maintain an inspiring area
  • Be an expert and dedicated owner of assigned areas
  • Ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately
  • Execute revisions, sales plans, and Visual Merchandise Guides
  • Accurately execute backroom fills and maintain organization
  • Prioritize guest interaction while balancing tasks
  • Solve for guest needs using available tools
  • Thank guests and remind them you are here to help in the future
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier and order pick up
  • Perform all other duties based on business needs

Requirements

  • Strong interest and knowledge of apparel products and accessories
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate technology equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Capability to resolve guest questions quickly
  • Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Accurate cash register operations as needed
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders
  • Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally
  • Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and remain mobile for the duration of a shift
