The position demands a high level of professionalism, as interpreters must maintain confidentiality and adhere to the ethical codes set forth by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare. In addition to interpretation, the role includes monitoring and improving language skills, participating in continuing education, and responding to requests through the ServiceHub. The interpreter must be culturally sensitive and capable of handling high-pressure situations, ensuring effective communication even in emotionally charged environments. This position may require travel to other Lexington Medical Center facilities as needed.
