Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing production problems and implement corrective actions involving designs, materials, and processes
- Provide technical expertise and support related to manufacturing
- Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations
- Train production personnel in new or existing operations
- Design layout of equipment and workspaces
- Prepare reports summarizing information/trends related to manufacturing performance
- Insure performance against organizational goals for yield and process capability
- Actively participate in Failure Review Board (FRB) investigations
- Partner with other organizations to create and execute improved manufacturing plans which drive measurable improvements
- Support a culture of continuous improvement, 'Right the First Time', Safety First, Audit Ready, and Policy & Security compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior engineering experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering preferred
- Advanced communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong technical, analytical, and critical thinking / reasoning skills
- Experience with logistics/production process flows/factory floor layout
- Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Understanding of all aspects of DoD development and program lifecycle: Design, Implementation, Verification, Production and Sustainment
