About The Position

As a Maintenance Planning Specialist - Electrical, you will be a key member of the turnaround (TA) team responsible for the effective planning and execution of assigned turnaround outages across the refinery. This position is accountable for both planning and scheduling the electrical scope for their assigned outage. Success in this role directly contributes to increased unit uptime, improved product quality, and reduced maintenance costs.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of instrument and electrical systems experience in the Energy or related industry
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following: Travel up to 5%
  • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties
  • Transport articles up to 50 pounds
  • Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
  • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions
  • Wear fire-retardant clothing and personal protective equipment
  • Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

  • 5 or more years of instrument and electrical systems experience in the Energy or related industry
  • 5 or more years of experience in maintenance planning related to safety, craft knowledge, materials, CPM logic, and logistics
  • Proficiency working in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proficiency in SAP for the ODM work process (MM, PM, PS modules)
  • Ability to plan multi-craft jobs
  • Working knowledge of engineering, safety, and IHS standards and procedures
  • Able to read and perform material take-offs from isometrics and equipment drawings
  • Understands and uses functional expertise to contribute to the success of the business
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports and manual

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and direction for electrical systems (and applicable associated instrumentation) to support mechanical integrity and reliability improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to review proposals, resolve priorities, and ensure maintenance activities align with plant goals and regulatory standards.
  • Create accurate job packages, estimate labor and materials, and build task libraries for repeatable jobs using IPS and other planning tools.
  • Assemble complete documentation, which may include: One-line diagrams and electrical schematics, loop and wiring drawings, panel schedules, motor lists, and cable schedules, pictures and field sketches, material lists (including bulks and long-lead items), blind/LOTO lists, repair plans and detailed work steps with time estimates
  • Collaborate with inspection, engineering, safety, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure required steps are properly incorporated into plans, with a focus on: Electrical distribution equipment (MCCs, switchgear, transformers, breakers), motors and drives, power and control cabling, terminations, and raceway systems, electrical heat trace, lighting, grounding, and bonding, associated instrumentation devices where they interface with electrical systems
  • Verify that switching procedures align with and support the job plans.
  • Partner with I&E field contractors: prepare bid scopes, review contractor proposals, recommend and support contract awards.
  • Support all electrical work during TA execution, including pre-TA activities such as: de-energization and LOTO, safe work permitting, verification testing, removal, installation, and termination of motors, cables, and electrical equipment, testing and commissioning.
