About the position
The Specialist II, Procurement role at Pilot Company is focused on sourcing products and services while providing support to stores by addressing their needs and resolving issues. This position involves comprehensive contract reviews, negotiations with vendors, and leading process improvements within the procurement department.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive contract reviews, including identifying issues for management review.
- Lead contract discussions with legal and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication with department leaders.
- Act as a subject matter expert on products and services, evaluating contract terms and language for advantages and disadvantages.
- Communicate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale issues.
- Oversee and coordinate product and service roll-outs with business team members.
- Negotiate pricing effectively, leveraging various methods to achieve optimal financial results.
- Manage complex negotiations independently, ensuring alignment with Pilot's business units.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives within the department and organization.
- Investigate new opportunities within product and service categories and present key findings to leadership.
- Manage independent work streams effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving and situation analysis skills.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Effective financial modeling skills.
- Ability to collect, analyze data, and make recommendations.
