About the position

The Specialist I, Financial Aid position at Salt Lake Community College involves assisting students and others in navigating the financial aid process through various communication channels. The role includes providing information about applications, processing, aid offers, and relevant policies, as well as reviewing and processing incoming documents. This part-time position requires working at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus during specified hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist students at the front desk regarding financial aid processes, procedures, and policies.
• Perform data entry into Banner and other computer systems.
• Read and reply to student emails and faxes.
• Scan and image documents into student files.
• Help students complete forms and/or FAFSA applications in financial aid systems.
• Work on reports as needed.
• Answer the main phone line at times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• Customer Service experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience and/or knowledge of Financial Aid.
• Experience with Banner.
• Excellent work attendance.
• Nine (9) to twelve (12) months or more of Customer Service experience.
• Knowledge of Title IV Financial Aid and FAFSA application process.
