About the position

The Specialist Distribution and Logistics position at The University of Kansas Health System focuses on managing the receipt, storage, and shipment of products, particularly related to Code Blue Carts. This role involves following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality control, inventory management, and efficient product flow from vendors to internal and external customers. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to meet productivity and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to process orders including creating, picking, and packing orders.
  • Perform quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, and preparing orders for delivery.
  • Ensure efficient flow of products from receipt to delivery to various customers.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members during training.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and comply with safety, regulatory, and LEAN requirements.
  • Participate in projects and perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Unload and sort materials for stocking or replenishment.
  • Cross-train in multiple Distribution and Logistics areas such as Store Room and Point of Use.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products and general computer skills effectively.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • 1 or more years of related experience in a fast-paced environment, customer service, or distribution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and adapt in a fast and dynamic organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 or more years of LEAN experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience in a healthcare environment.
