About The Position

The Specialist, Community marketing is responsible for identifying, evaluating, designing, and executing unique marketing events for the community in partnership with the brands we represent. Organizes and ensures the smooth operation of marketing efforts, from planning to implementation. The Specialist, Community Events is responsible for roadmap management by working with internal and external team to achieve partnership deliverables. Generates excitement, brand awareness and boost sales by hosting events in stores, sporting events or other public venues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field such as Advertising.
  • 2+ years of experience in events, marketing, integrated marketing and advertising, or communications.
  • Ability to multi-task and execute with excellence and precision while adapting to competing demands and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to convey a sense of urgency in such a way that will motivate others to achieve goals and results.
  • Sets clear expectations, performance measures and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all programs and initiatives align with the Hibbett mission statement and community impact goals.
  • Plan and execute community campaigns and initiatives from ideation and execution to effectiveness and recap.
  • Manage event and agency partner contracts through internal legal approval process and communicate with landlords and legal for insurance, contract and permit needs.
  • Cross-collaborate with internal departments (merchant team - product, asset protection, Operations, IT) to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Partner with brands, Regional Vice Presidents and District Sales Managers to identify high-ROI impact opportunities.
  • Coordinate event logistics and expectations with store and district teams.
  • Work with agency partners on creative development of promotional assets, providing feedback and ensure alignment with brand tone and goals, then manage deployment of assets to corporate and store-level social media.
  • Partner with the community team to elevate field events with brand partnership and funding.
  • Increase brand involvement in community outreach through donations and sponsorships tied to local events or existing Hibbett events.
  • Lead events from concept through execution, ensuring consistency across creative, logistics, brand messaging, and post-event reporting with a focus on new store openings and back to school events.
  • Research, book, and manage content creators as needed for initiatives in other markets when our internal team aren’t available to participate.
  • Execute back-to-school events across multiple cities, including vendor research and booking for cost savings.
  • Lead First String initiatives, including communication with Nike, District Sales Managers, athletic departments, civic leaders, media and full execution of presentations.
  • Manage brand events and expand best practices to additional markets.
  • Prioritize brand product placement and initiatives to align with the Hibbett consumer and community mission statement.
  • Build and maintain strong brand and community relationships to support community outreach and event opportunities.
  • Write blogs for event promotion and post-event recaps.
  • Collaborate with the PR team to provide timely event and product information for media distribution.
  • Provide event recap photo/video edits and distribute assets to the marketing department.
  • Communicate with field teams to ensure they are fully equipped for upcoming events.
  • Ideate, develop, and present new event opportunities to brand and community partners.
  • Represent Hibbett at branded events, fostering relationships with brand and community representatives, athletes, influencers, and sports marketing representatives for events.
  • Ensure consistency of branding at events through the use of regional toolkits including branded tents, step and repeats, photo booths, pop-a-shot, tablecloths and décor.
  • Work cross-collaboratively in planning, execution and budget of new store grand opening events.
  • Create detailed run-of-show documents and talking points for events, and distribute to vendors and team members.
  • Maintain and build relationships with agency partners for event creation
  • Design and order branded giveaways to enhance attendee experience and brand recognition.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of events and prepare performance reports for leadership.
  • Maintain project plans, timelines and status updates across multiple activations.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, escalate risks and ensure flawless execution across all touchpoints.
  • Manage and maintain brand funded community budget

  • Ensure MMU visual branding, including video content, is aligned with the Hibbett and/or brand seasonal priorities and overall brand strategy.
  • Coordinate with merch and store teams to ensure product displays are strategically featured during events to drive engagement and sales.
