About the position

As a Benefits Specialist at HSA Bank, you will provide generalist support for various benefit functions, including Retirement Plans, Health and Welfare Plans, and Leave Management. This role involves assisting with the administration of benefit plans, advising colleagues on benefits matters, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will also play a key role in annual open enrollment and collaborate with HR departments to implement policies and communicate benefits effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to the Benefit Team, including administration of all benefit plans, preparing invoices, leave letters, and billing.
• Serve as the primary backup for the Manager, Retirement Plans.
• Administer the HR Benefit Box, advising colleagues on eligibility and coverage, and escalating complaints as needed.
• Assist with annual open enrollment, including testing, employee support, communications, reporting, and auditing.
• Partner with HR departments to implement policies and ensure effective communication of benefits programs.
• Stay updated on regulations and compliance issues, assisting in identifying necessary process changes.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of related Employee Benefits experience, including Leave Administration and/or Retirement Plans.
• Experience in the financial industry is preferred.
• High School diploma or GED is required; advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor's) are preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong administrative skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to handle highly confidential material with discretion.

Nice-to-haves

• Workday experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to demonstrate conceptual thinking and process improvement focus.
