About the position
This position will be utilized to provide direct administrative support of the Chief of the Tree and Forest Resources Division. The candidate is required to have a broad knowledge of the environmental planning, permitting, and enforcement processes. A comprehensive understanding of the technical and legislative activities at the State and local level in relation to regulations associated with various aspects of environmental resources management activities is essential to assist the Division in strategic planning, operational logistics, and assisting with constituent inquiries. This position requires the use of independent judgment and the innate ability to interpret established ordinances, policies, rules, and procedures with minimal intervention from the Division Chief.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Geology, Botany, Forestry, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Four years of experience in forestry, botany, land stewardship, environmental assessment, or ecological restoration, including supervisory experience.
- Must possess a Driver license.
