About the position

This position will provide a full-time Educational Aide for Pleasant Grove Independent School District. The aide shall have knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes of the following nature: ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to communicate and work with students, teachers, school administrators and the public; to maintain records; to maintain effective working relationship with other auxiliary personnel, teachers, school administrators, and the public; and have a positive and cooperative attitude toward the duties of the aide, the school, the staff, and the students.

Responsibilities

• Serve as instructional aide.
• Assist teacher in the instructional process.
• Work with the administration and carry out such duties and responsibilities as policies would demand in relation to students, teachers, school administrators, and the public.
• Carry out such duties and responsibilities as clerical operations; maintaining records; operating copy machines; and other similar tasks.
• Participate in staff development as assigned.
• Respect the confidence of instructional personnel and the administration.
• Assist the teacher in instructional media preparation and usage.
• Assist the teacher in preparing classroom materials to be sent home with students.
• Grade papers, record grades, and file papers.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or hold a GED certificate.
• Two years of experience as an Educational Aide, or a minimum of 15 semester hours of college credit with some emphasis on child growth and development or similar background, or demonstrated proficiency in a specialized skill area as determined by the local school district.
• Experience related to working with students or parents as approved by the employing Superintendent.
• Recommended by the employing Superintendent.

• Pay scale and classification will not be less than the minimum compensation plan for Pleasant Grove Independent School District.
