Lighthouse Community Public Schools (LCPS) is seeking a dedicated High School Spanish Teacher for the 26-27 school year. LCPS is an educational organization committed to disrupting inequities and providing exceptional educational opportunities. Operating two K-12 public charter schools in East Oakland, LCPS serves over 1,600 students with a mission to prepare diverse students for college, career, and lifelong changemaking. The ideal candidate will be an anti-racist educator, committed to educational justice, and skilled in facilitating cognitively engaging, student-centered learning. They will possess a strong belief in data-driven instruction, community building, and fostering a growth mindset. This role involves teaching multiple sections of High School Spanish, potentially an elective, and an advisory/Crew, demonstrating culturally responsive pedagogy, and planning standards-based curriculum. Teachers are expected to ensure students are at the center of their learning, utilize and analyze student-engaged assessments, and build a supportive classroom culture. Professional responsibilities include engaging in professional development, demonstrating advocacy and flexibility, and adhering to all school and state policies.
