About the position

Community Care and Hospice LLC is seeking a compassionate Spanish-speaking Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to assist patients in end-of-life care. This part-time position involves providing direct personal care services under the supervision of healthcare professionals, focusing on the comfort and emotional support of hospice patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
• Monitor and report changes in patients' physical or emotional conditions to the hospice care team.
• Help with basic mobility needs, including transferring patients between bed and chair, or assisting with walking.
• Provide compassionate companionship, offering emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
• Collaborate closely with the hospice interdisciplinary team to support the patient's care plan.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Document and report on patient care activities and progress.

Requirements

• Certified as a Home Health Aide (CHHA) in the state of California.
• Fluent in both Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients and families.
• Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a strong desire to help those in need.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in hospice care or working with terminally ill patients is preferred.
• Knowledge of hospice care philosophy and experience in end-of-life care.
• Familiarity with the communities of Ventura and Los Angeles, and the ability to work comfortably in patients' homes or care facilities.
