About the position
The Warehouse Shipping Clerk position involves managing shipping and receiving operations within a local warehouse. The role is crucial for ensuring timely processing of customer orders and handling logistics for both outbound and inbound shipments. The clerk will be responsible for preparing necessary documentation and collaborating with freight carriers, while also maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Process and ship customer orders
- Handle all shipping logistics for outbound customs and inbound returns
- Arrange and schedule pick up of shipments with freight carriers
- Prepare documents for shipments, including BOL and packing lists
- Use problem-solving skills to address issues and achieve optimal results
- Hold self and others accountable to meet commitments and deadlines
- Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
- Attend daily meetings
- Perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Load and unload trailers, sort and segregate freight, and maintain a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in shipping/receiving and warehouse procedures
- Minimum 2 years experience as a shipping/receiving clerk
- Good communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong math skills
- Responsible, dependable, and safety-minded
- Excellent attendance record
- PC proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Flexible schedule to work overtime and weekends
