About the position

The Educational Diagnostician will be responsible for conducting evaluations and assessments of students with suspected disabilities to determine their eligibility for special education services. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the success of students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of students with suspected disabilities
  • Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations for educational programming
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
  • Provide ongoing support and consultation to teachers and parents regarding student progress and interventions
  • Stay current on best practices and legal requirements related to special education services
  • Attend IEP meetings and other school meetings as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, evaluations, and IEPs

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Educational Psychology or related field
  • Valid Texas Educational Diagnostician certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Educational Diagnostician in a school setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
  • Positive attitude and a commitment to student success
