About The Position

The Sous Chef is an essential member of the Food & Beverage leadership team, dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to guests and employees. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to multitask and prioritize. The Sous Chef partners with the Executive Chef in creating an environment where motivated people want to join, learn, do their best, and advance. The ideal candidate will be a willing team player, comfortable with electronic systems, and willing to accept assignments on an as-needed basis to promote teamwork. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Requirements

  • ServSafe Certification.
  • Proficient knife skills.
  • ServSafe allergen training.
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Three to five years previous experience in culinary leadership position, independent restaurants preferred.
  • Michelin experience required with preference for two or three Michelin Star experience.
  • The ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems.
  • The ability to operate and utilize culinary production equipment and tools.
  • Candidates must have valid work authorization for the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Second language preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership, training, motivation, and communication skills.
  • College degree preferably specializing in culinary arts, or equivalent experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with the Executive Chef in creating an environment where motivated people want to join, learn, do their best and advance.
  • Accepting assignments on an as-needed basis to promote teamwork.
  • Collaborating with the Hotel Executive Chef and Adorn Executive Chef to align with the broader vision of the hotel as well as the restaurant.
