As a Sourcing Manager, Transportation & Distribution supporting the MTO Team in Fort Worth, TX, a typical day will include: Oversee procurement for specific categories of goods and services, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers for efficient sourcing and delivery. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate options based on cost, quality, and reliability. Manage the procurement process, including issuing Requests for Proposals, negotiating contracts, and monitoring supplier performance. Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and supplier consolidation. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and budgetary constraints. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for various transportation modes (e.g., truckload, lessthan-truckload, rail, ocean, and air freight) and distribution (warehouse services, capital equipment, supplies, etc.), including the development of RFPs, supplier selection, and contract award processes. Negotiate contracts with transportation and distribution service providers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions, cost savings, and service level agreements. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Use data analytics skills to evaluate opportunities, identify trends, and support decision making processes. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, finance, and operations teams, to align procurement strategies with business needs. Stay informed of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting supply chain and logistics.
