About The Position

This position is responsible for receiving, sorting, pricing and preparing donated items for display in the store. The role involves determining the suitability and pricing of items based on established standards, assisting in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the store and sorting room area, assisting store customers in donating, selecting and purchasing store items, operating and maintaining a cash register, and responding to customer questions. The responsibilities are divided among Sorting Room Responsibilities (35%), Customer Service Responsibilities (35%), and Store and Sorting Room Orderliness and Cleanliness Responsibilities (30%).

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively
Ability to operate a cash register, perform routine mathematical computations and count change
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing
Duties are usually performed standing. Standing may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.
Moderate physical effort required associated with sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and carrying light to heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)
High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
One year retail or warehouse experience preferred
Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities
