About the position

The Sorter position at DTG Recycle offers an entry-level opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on sustainability and community impact. Employees will engage in sorting materials on a conveyor belt, ensuring efficient processing while adhering to safety protocols. This role is essential in supporting the company's mission as the largest recycler of various materials in the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities

• Work on a conveyor belt system to sort materials efficiently.
• Identify each material and ensure it is directed to the correct area for further processing.
• Assist coworkers with heavy items.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Follow all standard safety procedures while always wearing required PPE.
• Perform general labor duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate verbally with team members and supervisors.
• Be able to stand, bend, walk, and sit for up to 10 hours a day.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Have access to reliable transportation.
• Produce work with quick turnaround times.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to use small hand tools (i.e., box cutters and wire cutters).
• Exposure to year-round weather.
