About the position

The Sonographer II position at Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital involves performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and/or NIV testing under the general direction of a radiologist and radiology administration. This role is essential in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, ensuring high-quality diagnostic testing in a community hospital known for its advanced cardiac care and comprehensive medical services.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and/or NIV testing at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for performing diagnostic testing used in patient care assessment.
• Complete and maintain required unit-specific training and annual safety training.

Requirements

• Completion of a formal Sonography course or four years of progressively responsible experience in an ultrasound department within the last five years.
• Graduation from high school or its equivalent.
• Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographers (RDMS) or RDCS or RVT in at least one field of specialization.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
