About the position

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Solutions Architect - VP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available). The role involves designing, developing, and implementing solutions to complex business problems, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and creating solutions that balance technology risks against business delivery. The position includes responsibilities such as building the platform and migrating to Container and Cloud based platforms, planning and facilitating requirements gathering sessions, managing BCP and Cloud platforms, and developing micro-services in Java. The Solutions Architect will also articulate the product architectural vision, create technical design documents, and drive development standards in collaboration with the delivery manager. This position may allow for telecommuting.

Responsibilities

  • Help build the platform and migrate to Container and Cloud based platforms.
  • Plan and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with global Operations, tech teams, CTO and GTIS.
  • Responsible for design, analysis and managing BCP and Cloud platforms.
  • Manage and set up dev ops capability as part of platform set up.
  • Design client configurations around cloud native tech stack.
  • Develop micro-services in Java, Spring framework modules.
  • Build applications using Apache camel based on EIP framework.
  • Work with RTB to guide through production issues and proactively help with system stability and performance.
  • Drive and define development standards in collaboration with delivery manager.
  • Articulate the product architectural vision and create design documentation.
  • Create technical design documents adhering to predefined standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in designing and developing solutions as products that can evolve.
  • Knowledge of modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tooling.
  • Experience with cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless, and containerization.
  • Understanding of security principles and best practices in solution design.
  • Ability to conduct solution design impact assessments in terms of risk, capacity, and cost.
