About the position

The Solutions Architect role at Citi's Central Controls organization is a senior technical position focused on providing architectural and technical solutions that support strategic initiatives. The role requires a hands-on approach and strategic thinking to influence technology direction and contribute to the design and delivery of innovative solutions aligned with Citi's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Influence and guide proof of concepts conducted by engineering teams to define the future of Controls Tech's technology roadmap.
  • Provide architectural and technical solutions for critical workflows within Controls Technology's portfolio.
  • Assess scalability, technological viability, and alignment with enterprise standards for Controls Technology teams.
  • Deliver technical solutions for hybrid data architecture platforms using on-premises and public cloud technologies.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to Citi's security, compliance, and integration standards, collaborating across teams.
  • Integrate solutions into Citi's technology ecosystem, ensuring production-readiness and operational stability.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI teams to enhance user experience and align interfaces with enterprise design standards.
  • Contribute to proof-of-concept solutioning and accelerate the adoption of innovative approaches.
  • Build analytical capabilities to provide actionable insights for the Controls function, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing risks.
  • Drive technical feasibility reviews for AI/ML/GenAI use cases and lead data-driven solutioning to meet business requirements.
  • Define business processes, scope technical requirements, and establish clear roadmaps for technology initiatives.
  • Promote technology and process efficiencies by streamlining architecture, automating testing, and retiring duplicate functions.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Solutions Architect or Enterprise Architect in complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business and technical processes.
  • Expertise in designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in AI/ML/GenAI concepts and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
  • Deep knowledge of modern architecture patterns, including microservices and event-driven design.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages like Python, Java, and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks like React.
  • Big data technology expertise, including Oracle, Snowflake, Starburst, Apache Iceberg, and Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Tibco Queue or Apache Kafka.
  • Experience deploying distributed systems in cloud environments with DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Strong understanding of testing automation frameworks and principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL, MongoDB).
  • Knowledge of in-memory caching systems (e.g., Redis, Couchbase).
  • Familiarity with architectural certifications (TOGAF, ArchiMate).
  • Experience working in agile, fast-paced development environments.
