About the position

The Solution Owner plays a key leadership role within a product delivery team, acting as the main contact for customers to understand their business needs and goals. This position involves collaborating with customers and the delivery team to ensure that the delivered product meets the desired outcomes, while also managing requirements and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, specify, document, and validate the business needs and requirements of stakeholders.
  • Conduct interviews to gather customer requirements through various methods such as workshops, questionnaires, and site visits.
  • Translate gathered information into technical requirements for developers, creating Epics and Stories.
  • Manage requirements and expectations of project stakeholders, including internal and external sponsors.
  • Identify and establish project scope and parameters based on requirements analysis.
  • Prioritize collected requirements with stakeholders and the project team.
  • Lead and guide the project team to ensure features meet customer requirements.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness and feasibility.
  • Develop and conduct peer reviews of requirements documentation.
  • Assist in interpreting customer requirements into feasible options and communicate these back to stakeholders.
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate changes and enhancements of business requirements to stakeholders and solicit approvals as needed.
  • Work successfully with software development teams, both onshore and offshore.
  • Facilitate workshops and lead discussions with stakeholders.
  • Mentor and execute Agile best practices within the team.
  • Develop, own, and execute the product roadmap, translating features into well-defined product requirements.
  • Prioritize and maintain the Sprint backlog for assigned products.
  • Lead planning of product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionality.
  • Mitigate impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
  • Perform market research to understand changes and their potential impact on strategy.

Requirements

  • Excellent client-facing communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis and elicitation.
  • Demonstrable skills across project development methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, Waterfall).
  • Proficient in Confluence, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Cloud, Azure, and Microsoft O365 suite of tools.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Sharp analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
