About the position
The Grade K-5 Special Education Learning Center Teacher at Solomon Elementary is responsible for providing specialized educational services to elementary students with diverse learning needs. This role emphasizes creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and emotional growth of all students, particularly those in special education. The teacher will implement a challenging curriculum and collaborate with families and the military community to enhance educational experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to K-5 students with special education needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in professional development and training to enhance teaching skills.
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that promotes trust and responsibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
- Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire.
- Completion of a Teacher's Education Program within three years of hire if not already completed.
- Demonstrated commitment to pursuing Hawaii licensing requirements.

Benefits
- Salary range of $51,835.00 - $72,941.00 annually.
- $10,000 salary differential for Special Education with Hawaii teaching license.
- $5,000 salary differential for National Board Certification.
