Software Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager, you will report to a Director of Engineering and be responsible for both technical leadership and people management. Your role will involve recruiting, mentoring, and growing a team of engineers, collaborating with product managers, and fostering an engineering culture that supports innovation and high-quality product delivery. Strong communication, collaboration, and software development skills are essential for success in this role.

• Recruit, mentor, manage, and grow a team of engineers
• Work across engineering teams and partner closely with product managers to deliver on business and technology goals
• Create an engineering culture that supports innovation, creativity, and diversity while delivering high quality products with predictability and reliability
• Ensure engineering excellence and rigor in architecture, execution, and delivery through technical design reviews and code reviews
• Partner with other engineering managers to ensure a consistent approach to managing our teams
• Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability
• Perform regular performance reviews and give regular feedback to your reports

• 5+ years of development experience
• 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership capacity, e.g. Architect, Team Lead, or Manager
• Strong understanding of software development best practices
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and team building skills
• Experience working in SAAS software development
• Knowledge of python and/or javascript preferred
• Knowledge of AWS and its services preferred
