About the position

The Software Engineer position at LG Electronics involves building, designing, and maintaining web and software applications. This role is crucial for supporting the Business Solutions Division by creating solutions for identified problems, executing assignments using various programming languages, and ensuring the quality of software through testing and validation. The position requires collaboration with clients and stakeholders to understand product requirements and contribute to new product ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Build, design, and maintain web applications and software applications.
  • Create solutions for identified problems or bugs.
  • Execute assignments using web applications, scripts, and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.
  • Develop and validate test routines to ensure quality of interfaces.
  • Design assignments with web services like REST and SOAP.
  • Manage the complete software development process from conception to deployment.
  • Maintain and upgrade software following deployment.
  • Contribute to new product ideas and make internal presentations.
  • Design and execute tests based on requirements, risks, and defects found.
  • Complete detailed reports listing requests for technical assistance and steps taken to resolve them.
  • Conduct field investigations to identify root causes and support organizations with required data.
  • Update, maintain, and monitor open issues actively.
  • Analyze and clarify queries by conducting research and troubleshooting issues.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and assist in troubleshooting and resolving challenges.
  • Document and convey Voice of Customer (VOC) for technical issues to appropriate internal teams.
  • Improve current test protocols and automation test tools.
  • Enhance IP network testing and test environments for both wired and Wi-Fi.
  • Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to understand product requirements.
  • Develop and execute test plans for new and existing applications.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and network monitoring tools.
  • LAN and WAN experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of web applications, programming languages, and web services including API, CSS, CSS3, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, REST, and SOAP.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies, and proficiency in network hardware and software configuration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary.
  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable in a team environment.
