About The Position

This role involves executing software solutions, encompassing design, development, and technical troubleshooting. The engineer will need to think beyond conventional approaches to build solutions and break down complex technical problems. Responsibilities include working across ServiceNOW applications (ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HRSD, and custom applications), maintaining and managing solutions across multi-stack ServiceNOW instances, and supporting automation. The role requires creating secure, high-quality production code and maintaining algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. The engineer will produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met. Additionally, the role involves gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data to develop visualizations and reporting for continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Identifying hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture is crucial. The position also requires contributing to software engineering communities of practice and events focused on emerging technologies, taking initiative in problem-solving, and demonstrating adaptability to change.

Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, ServiceNow Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, ServiceNow Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Four (4) years of experience with Building custom applications and Enhancements using Javascript in the ServiceNow platform.
Two (2) years of experience with Building new Portals/Workspaces and enhancing the OOB workspaces with HTML, CSS, Angular, JQuery.
Two (2) years of experience with Building cross instance/cross application solutions using REST APIs, OAUTH 2.0 Auth methodology and Data Transform methodologies.
One (1) year of experience with Building backend table structures with an understanding of Relational database.
One (1) year of experience with Working on Performance Issues with the understanding of Database Transactions and Indexing.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
Take initiative in finding solutions to complex problems, utilizing analytical & problem-solving skills, and possessing adaptability to change.
