Eli Lilly and Company seeks a Software Engineer (R2-R3) to develop and maintain software products that meet the needs and requirements of internal and external customers in pharmaceutical manufacturing and therapeutic discovery. Gather and analyze user requirements. Develop and contribute to frontend and backend frameworks. Develop backend services to support application programming interface (API) integrations. Analyze software for bugs and refactoring. Create reusable software products that are built to scale. Maintain and improve performance and reliability of software products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software products for pharmaceutical manufacturing and therapeutic discovery.
  • Gather and analyze user requirements.
  • Develop and contribute to frontend and backend frameworks.
  • Develop backend services to support API integrations.
  • Analyze software for bugs and refactoring.
  • Create reusable software products that are built to scale.
  • Maintain and improve performance and reliability of software products.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • 2 years of experience in software development within a software engineering team.
  • Experience delivering production-ready software within a regulated industry.
  • 2 years of experience with cloud services and coding in Java, JavaScript, Python/R, Node, React, and Spark.
  • 2 years of experience performing code reviews.
  • 2 years of experience with HTTP and APIs, including RESTful APIs.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical healthcare-based Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics, focusing on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and emerging Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • 2 years of experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelining.
  • 2 years of experience with refactoring and re-platforming.
  • 1 year of experience with Artificial Intelligence audio processing for speech recognition/translation.
  • At least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal in the field of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or similar.
