Software Engineer, Identity & Access Management

About the position

The Identity and Access Management team at Reddit develops and maintains a set of mission-critical, highly performant, and highly scalable systems that manage user identity, authentication, and authorization for millions of daily users and backend services. The team faces challenges such as building systems around consumer IAM to meet the needs of Reddit’s engineering organization and its users, designing and shipping backend services for one of the most visited sites in the world, and collaborating with various teams to define and implement Reddit’s IAM vision and roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Work with the team to select, scope, and execute on high leverage projects that align with Reddit’s goals.
• Execute on a strategy and create a more performant, more scalable, higher quality architecture around IAM.
• Collaborate with a variety of cross-functional teams across Reddit Engineering.
• Learn and improve your own technical and non-technical abilities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience designing and developing distributed backend systems
• IAM backend experience in either authorization or authentication
• Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages (preferably Go)
• Capability with essential cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, GCP)
• High empathy and excellent communication skills to collaborate across the organization.
