Raytheon has an opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Surveillance Sensor Radio Frequency (RF) Solutions Engineering Team in the Dallas, TX area. We encourage curious, creative problem solvers to join our team of bright, dedicated software craftspeople in designing and implementing highly innovative systems. You will learn advanced software engineering practices and apply new technologies to develop next generation capabilities and help keep our country safe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology, obtained prior to start
  • Familiarity in developing, testing, and integrating software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages
  • Familiarity with computer scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • A self-starter who enjoys hands-on problem solving and has a passion for C++ and Python development
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Linux, Scrum/Agile, DevSecOps, Git/GitLab
  • Familiarity working with physical hardware

Responsibilities

  • Gain exposure to systems engineering principles and understand how software fits into the bigger picture of product development.
  • Work in a hands-on engineering environment where you can turn classroom knowledge into real solutions.
  • Take ownership of your own project tasks or subprojects, with mentorship from experienced engineers.
  • Participate in key software lifecycle activities, including code reviews, documentation, testing, and validation.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
