Responsibilities

  • Solve real-world problems in information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, and data distribution that will transform the AWM business.
  • Work with business users and technology teams to build modern applications to replace long-standing legacy systems.
  • Develop scalable solutions that solve specific problems while being generalized for broader application.
  • Continuously improve existing systems and architecture.
  • Stay updated on the latest news in software development, including NoSQL/Distributed databases, Reactive Application design, and micro-services.

Requirements

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in Java
  • 2 - 3 years of experience working with non-relational and relational databases
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Excellent object-oriented or functional analysis and design skills
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Proven communication and interpersonal ability

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience building client- and consumer-facing products
  • Knowledge of reactive frameworks like Vertex
  • Eager to learn new programming languages, including functional programming languages
  • Embrace test-driven development and agile techniques
