About The Position

The Cloud Platform team, part of Core Engineering, enables the use of public cloud services by researching, architecting, and building a cutting-edge platform for safe and secure deployment and management of services in the public cloud. This role contributes to modernizing services with cloud-native principles, enforcing safety, security, and compliance, and enabling faster innovation. The team seeks collaborative, creative, and intellectually curious engineers passionate about cloud computing solutions, thriving in a DevOps culture and contributing to customer-centric product development. They will work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced global environment.

Requirements

Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional work experience.
Minimum 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
At least 1 year hands-on experience architecting, designing, administering, or developing management solutions for any of the main Cloud Providers: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure or Oracle Cloud.
Ability to establish trusted partnerships with product leads and executive-level stakeholders.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code languages such as Terraform or Cloud Formation for managing and provisioning infrastructure.
Experience in leveraging Developer AI tools.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or related field.
2+ years of work experience with one or more of the major cloud platforms, though exposure to Azure, Oracle or Google would be advantageous.
Hand on experience of software development, ideally using Java or Python.
Knowledge and experience of software development lifecycle and infrastructure-as-code tooling, such as Cloud Formation, Terraform, and AWS CDK.
Experience with security, isolation and multi-tenant design of distributed cloud services.
Familiarity with software artifact and container image lifecycle management and governance.
Familiarity with cloud network architectures and the integration with hybrid cloud networking.
Experience with Server-less platforms such as AWS Lambda, AWS Batch etc.

Responsibilities

Specification, development, testing, and releasing of new features for the Cloud Platform.
Contributing to the platform's vision, understanding customer needs, business goals, and product roadmap.
Building an engineering culture within the team.
Delivering high-quality software and demonstrating passion for software engineering.
Designing, building, and testing technical and operational management solutions for Cloud Platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
Proactively managing issues and risks through the delivery lifecycle.
Collaborating with a globally-distributed cross-functional team in building customer-centric products.
Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of software components, from requirements through design, testing, development, release, and demise.
Partnering with colleagues across Engineering to ensure an outstanding experience for development teams building and deploying applications and infrastructure.
Communicating and promoting best practices for public cloud application development and infrastructure management across the firm.
