About The Position
This role is for a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, focusing on building AWS AI services that utilize Machine Learning (ML) and Large Language Model (LLM) technology. The position involves working with an experienced team on an innovative AI service within the Information Retrieval space, utilizing the newest ML technologies on a highly visible AWS product. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying distributed ML systems and large-scale solutions for a global customer base. Key aspects of the role include collaborating on overall strategy, defining the team's roadmap, driving system architecture, implementing best practices for quality, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering large-scale software systems, technical proficiency, excellent communication skills, and a results-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment. The Agentic AI team focuses on building foundational AI services that empower customers to transform their businesses through cutting-edge AI solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Nice To Haves
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, testing, and deploying distributed machine learning systems and large-scale solutions.
- Collaborating closely with the team to influence overall strategy and define the team’s road map.
- Driving the system architecture.
- Spearheading best practices that enable a quality product.
